Heart pounding, Ada stood before the door to her room in the Pearl's replica estate. She was grateful for the work, but after another long day of festival preparation, the weary teraling was looking forward to the familiar comfort of a hot spring - and a warm body.

It was one of the many perks of having access to the Tavern. If you had a key, you could enter the Tavern at will, via either initiation, or invitation.

Because of her portal of preference, Ada was usually the one sending out the invitations. Most opted to have their fun in one of the many plush rooms the Tavern’s magic had to offer, not a sweltering sauna of stone and bamboo. But every now and again, often during full and new moons, the rune would beckon, and Ada was usually the one to answer.

Knocking the small stone against the door as if asking for entry, they watched with eager anticipation as the luminescent glow of lazuli etchings sprawled across the door's surface. Light culminating at the door’s handle, they winced slightly when gripping it, feeling the warning prick of identification and watching the red smear of their blood mix with the markings, before being absorbed into the brilliant blue. The color spread, brightening until it was a spectral hue, lifting up and off of the door as a replica when they pulled it back, revealing the entrance to the portal within.

Stepping through and closing the portal door behind her, Ada paused when entering the room. It had been set up to resemble a hot spring suite, equipped with a large bed, a small lounging area, and one massage table, all varying styles of sturdy rattan and wicker.

Arching a brow at the room’s vacancy, Ada glanced to the small bamboo-shingled washroom in the far corner of the room. Assuming her host was getting ready, Ada made her way to the steaming pool, needing only to disrobe.
